FPGA Field-Programmable Gate Array
FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array) is a reconfigurable hardware acceleration solution that combines flexibility with high performance. In AI scenarios, FPGAs are often used for low-latency inference, financial trading acceleration, video transcoding, and network protocol processing. Compared to GPUs, FPGAs consume less power and offer predictable latency; compared to ASICs, they can be reprogrammed after deployment to adapt to new algorithms. They are suitable for latency-sensitive scenarios or those where algorithms are not yet finalized. AMD (Alveo series), Intel (AI Suite on Arria/Stratix), and Achronix are the main suppliers in this field.
